Train dimensions

Dudes, we were looking at some standards for train dimensions and I thought I'd share them. While there's some variation, we've decided to settle on some only slightly modified from the Japanese Shinkansen. That system has train cars of 25m/82' in length, and about 10' wide. We're going with 8 cars in length, giving a total length of 200m/656'. Trains of this length in France carry about 600 people. It appears that all high speed trains run on standard gauge track, which is about 4'-8" wide; measured from the inside of each rail, as shown in the diagram below. Hope some of that helps!
